Illinois Department of Sound (IDoS) presents a one-hour long album exploring the liminal spaces of sound and music. Do you know where the daytime ghosts congregate? Those odd sounds in the hall might not be what you think they are...do you want to find out? Take this sonic journey with us, especially if your musical tastes are informed by Fripp/Eno, Cabaret Voltaire, or Nurse With Wound. 

The music on this album were created with stringed instruments, a real drum kit, battery-operated synthesizers, and self-created/self-referenced cutups/samples, performed live-to-tape.

There is a complete lack of desire to use laptop gear on stage or in the creation of this work. Not due to hatred of the concept, but sheer mind-mumbling INDIFFERENCE to it.

Illinois Department of Sound is the duo markobarloco and Joe Wallace. They have been creating music, sonic spaces, and sonic landscapes since 2022 and are based in Springfield, Illinois.
